Restriction Skill Book

my therapist had me create a little book to flip through when I feel like restricting… to help me choose food, get through that inner dialogue that tries to tell me not to eat, and to go through different skills I can use depending on what I’m feeling (or thinking)…

Anyways… I made one that she really liked.. so I thought I would just make a more generic version with a lot of the same stuff… I made each page 5 x 7 so that if you print it out and don’t have cardstock you could put it on larger index cards.

Anyways: not a therapist. not a doctor. this just happens to be something that was suggested that i make and i thought i would share

you can find it HERE via photos or via PDF download (if  you have problems downloading let me know!)

last night

DBT was for sure in play… After I got back from eating my cheesy potato (baked potato with cheese) at the local coffee shop… and spotting my therapist drive by whilst doing so I went home and wanted to purge and/or exercise.

Sat with it. Walked the dog. Took a hot bath in the clawfoot tub. Watched The Graduate. Watched the dog eat her bone next to my bed… and went to bed.

Urges never last forever… can they last a long time? Definitely. Forever? Absolutely not

this is sort of the basis of urge surfing. The idea that nothing lasts forever… especially not the bad times.
